Map the ordinary week
Record daily distance, longest routine trip, overnight parking, home or workplace charging, and the public stations you would realistically use. A large battery does not solve an unreliable charging routine.
Plan for winter as a normal condition
Cold weather affects energy use and charging. Consider a winter buffer, preconditioning while plugged in, heated comfort features, winter tires, and the availability of fast charging on less frequent long routes.
Treat incentives and availability as time-sensitive
Government programs, eligibility caps, and vehicle availability can change. The catalogue hides stale incentive records, and dealer offers must state every eligibility assumption and an as-of time. Confirm the current program and exact configuration before signing.
Check recalls by exact vehicle
Model-level information is not a substitute for a VIN check. Transport Canada recommends using the recall database and manufacturer lookup, then arranging required repairs.
